Kirk and Catherine Vlastakis of Clemmons announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Anne Vlastakis to Evan Chadwick Howell of Harrisburg, NC. His parents are Joe and Star Howell also of Harrisburg.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of West Forsyth High School. She graduated in 2003 from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Applied Sociology and graduated in 2008 from UNC-Charlotte with a Master of Social Work degree. She is a social worker for the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services Youth and Family Services Division.

Howell is a 2001 graduate of Central Cabarrus High School. He graduated in 2005 from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in English. He is currently attending UNC-Charlotte for a graduate degree. Howell is an eighth grade teacher at Albemarle Middle School.

The couple plans a June 21, 2008 wedding at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
