Mr. and Mrs. Steven Pruitt of Shelby and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Carter of Midland announce the engagement of their children, Erinn Nicole Carter, to Steven Ray Pruitt II.
A June 17, 2006, wedding is planned.

About the bride-elect: Erinn is the granddaughter of Henry Barr and the late Miriam Collins of Sweetwater, Tenn., and Richard and Christine Carter of Charlotte. She is a 2000 graduate of Central Cabarrus High School, a 2004 graduate of Rowan Cabarrus Community College and a 2005 graduate of Stanly Community College, where she graduated with honors. She is a certified Paraoptimetric.

About the future bridegroom: Steven is the son of Steven Ray and Darlene Webb Pruitt of Shelby. He is the grandson of Nellie G. Webb and the late James David Webb of Shelby and the late Garland and Lois M. Pruett of Cherryville. Steven is a 1994 graduate of Burns High School, a 1997 graduate of Cleveland Community College and a 2005 cum laude graduate of Appalachian State University. He is an art teacher at Burns High School.
