CONCORD – Andrew, 22, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, April, 17 2010. Andrew was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee November 30, 1987. He is survived by his mother and father, John Morton Schmidt II and Cathy A. Price Schmidt, of Concord, NC.
He attended Tennessee Temple Academy as a young boy, before his family moved to NC. Andrew graduated from Central Cabarrus High, Concord, NC in 2006. Andrew signed up with the Army National Reserves at the age of 17 and served 4 years as an E4 Specialist in the Army Reserves, where he received 8 awards and metals of honor for bravery. He served his country in the Iraq war and just recently returned home from a 9 month call of duty. He was pursuing a degree in computer engineering at ECPI; he was on the Dean's List. Andrew was a member of Harbor Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC.
Survivors include one sister, Tenille E. Schmidt, of Concord, NC; maternal grandparents, J.E. and Helen Price of China Grove, NC; aunts, Judy P. Abernethy of China Grove, NC, and Mary Houwelling, Barbara Hilard and Ellen Masters, all of California;; uncles, James Timothy Price of China Grove, NC and Tim Schmidt of Oregon; and numerous cousins and extended family members from NC, California and Oregon. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Morton Schmidt I and Jean Schmidt Zehender, and uncle, Richard Schmidt, all of California.
Andrew will always be remembered for his great smile and enthusiastic personality. Andrew was loved very much by all who knew him and he will forever be missed. Today, we feel blessed to have shared in the young gift of life in Andrew. Our family would like to thank God for who Andrew was and what he meant to us all.

Funeral service will be held, Wednesday at 10 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9 a.m., at Harbor Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 5801 Old Concord Rd. Charlotte, NC. A Graveside Service will follow at, Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC at 1 p.m., Wednesday. The family will meet at the home.
