MIDLAND - Jeffrey Karl Hartsell, 44, of 10420 Hwy. 601, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at his home.
Born Sept. 19, 1962, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Hartsell was a son of Melzie Simpson Hartsell of Harrisburg and the late Clyde C. Hartsell Sr. A 1980 graduate of Central Cabarrus High School, he was an avid outdoorsman and was a founding member of Cabarrus Bow Hunters Association.
Formerly employed with Harrison-Wright and Floyd Pike Electrical Contractors for Duke Power, he was a general contractor. He was owner of Hartsell Construction Company, president of Hartsell Brothers Land Development and a partner in One Shot Properties LLC. He was also a volunteer with CVAN.
Mr. Hartsell was first place winner of Carolina Brick Layers contest in 1978 and second place winner in North Carolina State Brick Layers contest in 1979 and 1980.
In addition to his mother, survivors include wife Regina Starnes Hartsell; daughter Amanda Hartsell Lambert and husband Jerry of Concord; stepsons David E. Wilder and wife Amy of Midland and Tyler Wagoner and Jacob Wagoner of the home; brothers Clyde C. Hartsell Jr. and wife Jean and James D. Hartsell and wife Linn, all of Concord; sister Sharon H. Carter and husband Wade of Concord; and grandchildren Aron Wilder, Connor Wilder, Breanna Wilder and Madison Wilder.
Visitation: 6-8:30 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. At other times, the family will be at the home at 10420 Hwy. 601, Midland.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Perry Lemmons officiating. At Mr. Hartsell's request, pallbearers will be wearing denim Hartsell Construction Company shirts. Burial will be at Mission Baptist Church Cemetery in Locust.
